The New Diez Palace (Neues Schloss Diez) will be built in an historical style. The developer and the planners though having consulted many palaces and stately buildings as inspiration have not copied them. Diverse ideas and concepts from the past (Renaissance, Classicism) have been uniquely and stylishly combined and redefined.
At the same time, great value has been placed on symmetry using the golden section principle, which gives the palace its own harmonious character. Marcus Frey, developer and project initiator, is certain that “owing to the overall historical appearance, even a trained observer will not immediately recognise that the New Diez Palace has been built in the 21st century”.

In order to achieve the desired appearance, certain elements have been integrated into the building design. These consist of the main entrance, two connecting wings and two side wings to the east and west.
The palace is 100 m wide, 26 meters long and 23 meters high. The ceiling height on each floor within the five-storey building is between 4.30 and 5.10 meters.
The emphasis is on quality throughout the project. This applies as much to the choice of materials as it does to the professional workmanship. Natural materials such as slate, marble, sandstone and basalt have been chosen.
The developer emphasises the formidable task: “The real challenge for this building is to create everything new. There are some individual elements which have their role models but not one single window, column or arch etc. has been built like this before.”
